All about us
Way Back in 2013,
We opened our first shop
Handed Down & Made By Hand
More than just kitchen witches, herbalists Molly Watman and Emma Graves have created a community around herbal wisdom.
We entirely depend upon the beautiful souls who have joined Brooklyn Herborium and craft herbal goods with us on a daily basis. Each item is made with intention and the flow of energy.
Molly, a trained artist & designer, started studying herbalism after her first child was born in 2011. Though it had always been an interest, it took on more importance in her life as she stepped into the role of mother.
Maybe it was hormone-induced paranoia, but she began to research all of those un-pronounceable ingredients and discovered that even so-called “green” labels came up short. Her solution was to go back to basics and learn to make her own cleaning and personal care supplies the way that our great-grandmothers did 100 years ago.
As a Reiki III certified Therapeutic Sound Practitioner, she offers Sound Sessions for inner alignment and clarity at our Windsor Terrace Workshop.
Emma, a certified herbalist & highly skilled aesthetician who has been working in natural skin care since 1998, originally developed the Between You & the Moon product line to serve her clients in finding a method of natural, holistic skin care that provided tangible results.
A 4+ generation holistic healer, her love of skin care and holistic methods was chronicled in her early blog “The Pimple Whisperer,” some of which is still available on this website. She is Reiki III certified and offers holistic facials along with body-mind reflexology and energetic alignments for her clients.
In 2011, the two joined forces to open Brooklyn Herborium, a place for Herbs to live, on Columbia Street in Red Hook/Carroll Gardens Brooklyn. They soon added family (mostly baby), home care, and additional apothecary goods to the original skin care line. Within months, they had outgrown that shop and created a workshop space right next-door.
As their business and families grew (now to the point of 5 children between the two partners!) they invited other talented herbal crafters, herbalists and holistic aestheticians to train with them and expand their community to a second location—this one in the family-oriented neighborhood of Windsor Terrace.
With the shop expansion, Brooklyn Herborium has been able to branch out further to those who are searching for the “real-deal” holistic teachings while still providing the highest-quality hand-made herbal products.
One can find Brooklyn Herborium products in far away places such as Hong Kong due to some very supportive clients who believe in the authenticity of what we are able to offer, and who see us benefiting their own lives.

Hands On Learning
Our Herbal Crafter Apprenticeship focuses on the how’s and why’s of our Functional Skincare Line along with some of our Apothecary products and Herbal Infusions and Herbal Medicinals. Our mission is to disseminate this wealth of knowledge to a greater audience so more people can benefit from traditional wisdom. These secrets are not to be held, but to be shared.
Professional Training
Our Holistic Aesthetician Apprenticeship: We have been nurturing and mentoring holistic aestheticians since 2010. If our processes and methods speak to you and you want to delve deeply into the type of holistic wisdom we practice, an apprenticeship may be right for you. Apprenticeship is not the same as taking a class or attending workshops. You must be willing to invest yourself, work hard, and respect the mentors who are taking time from their busy practices to pass this wisdom on to you.
